Spirituality in the Poetry of Emily Dickinson

Sunday, January 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 12, & Feb. 19, 2023: Spirituality in the Poetry of Emily Dickinson led by Paul Clark
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) is acknowledged as one America’s greatest literary figures. The popularity of her poetry is currently at an all time high, being read, studied and acclaimed worldwide. Unknown and unpublished during her lifetime, Dickinson left a trove of over 1800 poems and hundreds of letters which were discovered upon her death. Brilliant and inquisitive, much of Dickinson’s poetry deals with spirituality in many various forms. The history of her life as well as poems dealing with faith, death, eternity and the nature of and the prospects for an afterlife will be the focus of this study.
