Sleep Not
Sundays, October 7th through November 4th, at 10:05am in EM305/306
Led by Robert Wierenga. “Sleep not when others speak” was one of George Washington’s Rules of Civility. As Christian citizens, we are called to be an active presence in the “public square.” Our words and actions should reflect the values of the Kingdom of God. In order to do this, we need to wake up and listen to those who formed Western Culture. This five-week class will use Robert’s newly-published book, SLEEP NOT. It has a chapter on each of thirty men and women whose writings defined our values. We will listen to such key persons as Jesus, Moses, Isaiah, Augustine, Cicero, Mother Teresa, John Locke, and others.
