Religion & The Presidency
Sundays, September 13th through October 18th, Class recordings released weekly, Zoom discussions at 10am
Led by Rev. Dr. Chuck Jones. This six-week study will explore the interaction of religious faith and politics in the United States through examination of 22 presidents. The class will analyze both personal beliefs and the public policies of these presidents. The class will not try and measure “how religious” they were, but rather take their beliefs seriously and seek to assess how these beliefs affected their presidencies. Join us as we examine how these presidents exercised their roles as preacher, pastor, priest, and prophet to grasp more fully the challenge of the Executive Office.
