Throughout January we are collecting food for our mission, END 68 HOURS OF HUNGER. This mission has highlighted the needs of many south Tampa children who do not receive food on the weekends. The only meals they have are provided by the free breakfasts and lunches they receive at school. END 68 HOURS OF HUNGER is a volunteer organization that fills backpacks with food for these students to take home every Friday. Each backpack provides 3 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and snacks for the students and their siblings. More than 30 PCPC volunteers help pack and deliver food to nearly 500 students every week.
The Food Pantry needs our help to restock the shelves for the remainder of the school year. They are in need of the following:
*Canned soup
*Canned fruit
*Crackers – (Saltine or Ritz type)
*Cereal
*Snack bars – (Protein/Power bars, Rice Krispie treats, puddings etc.)
Grocery bags and lists are available in the Narthex, gym or church office. Food donations will be collected every Sunday in the Breezeway throughout the month of January.
