Faith and Doubt

Faith and Doubt. November 5th – November 26th at 10:05am in EM307/308

Led by Paul Clark, this class will discuss the many forms of doubt that have been consistent companions of the Christian faith from biblical times to the present. We will also look at many of the great doubters of the past two thousand years and the role that doubt played in their faith journey. For many Christians, various forms of doubt have been a source of embarrassment and have led to a feeling of inadequacy. Other Christians have considered their doubt a precious gift that became the fuel which pushed them toward a courageous and more engaging inquiry. Many
of this latter group attest to achieving a Christian life based more upon faith and a personal experience of God’s grace than one based upon a prescribed set of beliefs. Hopefully, we may share our own experiences in this discussion oriented setting.
