The Children’s ministry team at PCPC strives to provide the foundational building blocks of Christian faith for infants through upper elementary children. Our goal is to support your role as primary Christian Educators of your child(ren). Classes and programs link the latest in brain research with engaging age-appropriate activities to place children on the path to a life of knowing and growing with God through Jesus Christ.
A highlight of the programs is listed below; please check the website events, calendar, bulletin, electronic news and newsletters for the dates and times.
Sunday Morning Ministries:
Nursery Care-provided for infant through up to age 3, separated by age and developmental stage, on Sundays and at some special church events. Nursery care workers are certified in first aid, infant child and adult CPR. Our nursery adheres to strict cleanliness policies and uses a security check in system along with pagers for parents. Jeanne Rowe is the nursery care coordinator and has been overseeing the care of children in our congregation for over 25 years.
Godly Play – a Montessori based story telling system designed for children age three through 1st grade. Godly Play is held on Sunday mornings following the Time with Children in each of our worships services. Age appropriate bible stories, music and play are part of this program. Parents/guardians accompany their child to the Godly Play room each Sunday.
Preschool 3’s and 4’s Faith Formation-PCPC is blessed to share space with our nationally award winning Preschool program. The space and resources are used on Sundays to lay a foundation of faith for the most eager and energetic faith family members using well known biblical story units.
Elementary Faith Formation-Kindergarten through 5th graders will experience biblical and practical lessons using exciting stories, science experiments, arts and crafts, animated video storytelling, and active games-all combined into a living–faith experience. The curriculum for our elementary children will help them discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ today!
Additional Faith Formation ministries for children and families are held throughout the year and emphasize learning and exploring specific subjects, liturgical seasons and just plain fun! Check the bulletins, newsletters and the website for more details or check out more on the Faith Formation pages.
Summer Camps provide an opportunity for children to continue exploring their faith through engaging and themed activities at one of the summer programs/camps offered by Palma Ceia. See the Summer Camp page for more information.

The Children’s ministry programs are made possible because of volunteers. You can be part of an exciting and life changing experience, no teaching experience required! All materials and instructions are provided for our Sunday Faith Formation classes. Volunteer shepherds and youth are also needed to assist with various programs throughout the year. Please contact Nancy Creedon for more information or refer to our Volunteer page.
