We all need road maps (or a GPS or Siri) to help us navigate our way from one place to another when going on a journey. Worship is an experiential journey and bulletins are the road map which help us navigate the experience. This fall PCPC has launched new worship bulletins for our children to help them make the most of the worship experience.
If you worship with children on a regular basis I hope you will encourage your child(ren) to take one of these bulletins that have been designed especially for them. The Children’s Worship Bulletins in the sanctuary are available in the narthex. They have been designed with our young readers in mind and serve as a tool to engage and include them in worship. Children and parents can find a “Worship Key” card in the pew that teaches the elements in our traditional worship service. If your child typically doesn’t pick up a worship bag they may find the bulletins on a table by the front sanctuary door or ask an usher.
In all worship spaces (sanctuary and gym) the new blue Children’s Worship Bags include a children’s bulletin, coloring and activity sheets which apply to the morning’s scripture readings, and some other worship appropriate items to engage busy hands. These can be found in a basket near the entryway doors.
Children’s Bibles and Bible Storybooks are also available. These are great tools to engage children throughout worship, and they also allow our families to “try out” a variety of bibles and storybook bibles to determine which may be a good fit for your family to use together at home.
Even if you don’t worship with children regularly its good for you to be aware of these resources so you can help welcome a visiting family as you may encounter them.
Thank you for helping make PCPC a welcoming community for children and their families to participate in worship,
Pastor Nicole
